SINGHS PUNISHED MASSA RANGAR (1740) In the year 1740, a Mughal commander named Massa Rangar occupied shri Darbar Sahib (also called Golden Temple) and used the shrine to host lewd activities. News spread and finally it reached remote region of Rajasthan. Two Sikhs in Rajasthan BHAI MEHTAB SINGH and BHAI SUKHA SINGH decided to kill Massa Ranga to avenge the defilement. The two Sikhs then travel led to Amritsar to accomplish the great deed. Upon reaching Amritsar, they discovered that the city as well as the Darbar Sahib were strongly defended by Mughal troops.
