SINGHS PUNISHED MASSA RANGAR (1740)

In the year 1740, a Mughal commander named Massa Rangar occupied shri Darbar Sahib (also called Golden Temple) and used the shrine to host lewd activities. 

News spread and finally it reached remote region of Rajasthan. Two Sikhs in Rajasthan BHAI MEHTAB SINGH and BHAI SUKHA SINGH decided to kill Massa Ranga to avenge the defilement. The two Sikhs then travelled to Amritsar to accomplish the great deed. Upon reaching Amritsar, they discovered that the city as well as the Darbar Sahib were strongly defended by Mughal troops.

Sukha Singh and Mehtab Singh dressed themselves as revenue officials and entered the Darbar Sahib. In the sanatorium of the Darbar Sahib, they found Massa Ranga along with numerous Mughal officials enjoying a show of dancing girls and they were drinking also. Mehtab Singh approached Massa Rangar quietly and then when he was within arm’s length he cut his head with one mighty blow. 

Sukha Singh picked up massa's head.They kill about 100 mughal troops but before the reinforcement arrived two Singhs fought their way out of the Darbar Sahib. 

As the two Singhs travelled back to Rajasthan, they paraded the head of Massa Rangar at the point of a spear at various localities of the PUNJAB to demonstrate that the sikhs had taken revenge from the defiler of the Darbar Sahib and also passed a resolution that in future whoever attack this shrine would get this punishment.....

1740 ਵਿਚ, ਇਕ ਮੁਗ਼ਲ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਮੱਸੇ ਰੰਗੜ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਲਡਨ ਟੈਂਪਲ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭੜਕਾਊ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ.

ਖਬਰ ਫੈਲ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਨੇ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਖੇਤਰ ' ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਦੋ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਮਹਿਤੇਬ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਸੁੱਖਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਮੱਸੇ ਰੰਗਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ. ਫਿਰ ਦੋ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕਾਰਜ ਲਈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੁਗਲ ਫੌਜੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪੱਕੇ ਹਮਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ.

ਸੁੱਖਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਤਾਬ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਚ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ. ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸਵੱਰਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਮੁਗਲ ਅਫਸਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਮੱਸੇ ਰੰਗਾ ਨੂੰ ਨੱਚਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੋ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਪੀ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ. ਮਹਿਤਾਬ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਮਾਸਾ ਰੰਗਦਾਰ ਚੁੱਪ-ਚੁਪੀਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਬਾਂਹ ਦੀ ਲੰਬਾਈ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਇਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਝਟਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਟਿਆ.

ਸੁੱਖਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਿਆ. ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ 100 ਮੁਗਲ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਪਰੰਤੂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੋ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਏ

ਜਿਉਂ ਹੀ ਦੋ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਏ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਬਰਛੇ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮਾਸਾ ਰੰਗੜ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਡੀਲਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਮਤਾ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ. ਭਵਿਖ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੇ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ .....
